Mercury has safely stuck it out at the top for a further seven days, although it is rumoured that many of The Land's creatures (both players and mobiles) have been baying for the mage's blood! This is quite a record as most mages disappear from the top of the pecking order after just a brief stay. I don't believe Mercury has much to worry about from Toto, the Top 20's number 2, though. Toto seems to spend most of his time salivating over the femur bone in the tearoom and chasing brands! Maybe Toto is who we should have an eye on though; he was heard boasting in the tearoom the other day that he had reached his highest ever score. What was that about pride and a fall?

So, this week's congratulatory slap on the back is for Mercury! Will he make it through another week at the top... not if Alcapone can have his way. Alcapone is this week's Highest New Entry, straight in at number 3. Alcapone has been slicing through his mortal competition and, despite being new to the Top 20, has already seen the end of Keyser and Kenny. Did either have a contract on his head? Is Alcapone out to off his opposition by contract killing? One thing's for certain, Alcapone is someone to watch, preferably from the comfort of a safe bolt hole with the aid of a snoop spell! Keyser has been the subject of more than one ambush this week; he was pounced on by Sassenach, but on that occasion came out on top.

One other new entry this week is at number 9, Emmapeel. I haven't heard much about Emmapeel, although she seems to have a partner who hasn't made it into the Top 20 himself. Perhaps he is trying to keep a low profile? The sweet Florence makes her re-entry (by virtue of her visit to Bombow's Prize Giving Ceremony) at number 10, while Laura pops back in further down the chart at number 17. This week's fastest climber is Sonsie. Her achievement is all the more remarkable when you know she has climbed 5 places from number 19 to number 14 this week, despite having being killed by Pluto in between!

Damned and Augustus both slip slightly, down 2 places a piece, whereas Slasher plummets like a mortal without a parachute, hitting the bottom of the chart from last week's number 15. Tethys makes a little progress, up 1 place to number 19, while Melina, Cylon and Joxer hold steady in the middle region at 11, 12 and 13 respectively.

I would normally wish the NEW entries a little luck, but it seems that Emmapeel and Alcapone are more than capable of making their own good fortune!
