There's no change at the top this week with Mithriel claiming the number 1 spot for a second week in succession. Also this week, and more impressively, Viktor announced that the wizzes had voted Mithriel as June's Player Of The Month. Unfortunately it transpires that Mithriel is to be away from The Land for quite a while: she won't be able to enjoy her title, but then, she won't be able to suffer the Curse, either!

Ophelia enters The Top 20 for this first time this week. At number 7 she zips in higher than any other new persona, and thus captures the title Highest New Entry. If Ophelia's name is borrowed from Shakespeare's Hamlet, let's hope she hasn't also borrowed the poor wretch's destiny. It's all too easy to drown in The Land.

The disappearance (yet again) of Lanfear and Sirkilalot from two of last week's top 5 positions help Damned and Belgarath climb this week. Belgarath now holds his highest ever position in the Top 20, up 3 places to this week's number 4. Incidentally, this also makes Belgarath this chart's Fastest Climber.

Iota re-enters this week at number 5: this is exactly the same placing he held when he left the chart over 2 months ago. Other re-entries Sonsie and Emmapeel help contribute to the general fall of the rest of the established Top 20 players, with only Angelmist holding steady at number 10. What else has contributed to this week's general slump? I suspect Livnletdie, an obnoxious sort: his favourite tactic is casting powerful summon spells on unsuspecting players just after a reset, in the hope of catching them off-guard. Moreover, when I confronted him, he described himself as "...out to spoil everyone's day."; he also mentioned "Prime targets include, Belgarath, Laura and Kit.". Under the circumstances, maybe Belgarath won't be reaching any further up the chart next week?
