A mystery in the Land - two mages vanish in a short space of time. But what is occuring?

Maximus the Mage dies, in a duel? Can this be so? My sources claim this is the case, but when we attempted to question Maximus he pleaded he just felt sick at the end, and keeled over.

And Hochzeit, also slain, though in a more normal manner. Is this the start of attrition for the highlives, or is it just another week in the life if Mud?
